More LOTRO Podcasts
Sep 2nd
Being an avid LOTRO player, I find that I enjoy listening to podcasts about the game. So much so, in fact, that I also listen to podcasts OTHER than LOTRO Reporter. I know, weird huh?
I thought that I’d take the time to mention a few that I listen to, and link to them, so that you might have a chance to listen to what others are doing in the LOTRO community.
- Ringcast – http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=3&ep=36 - A very interesting podcast. Lady Sinaea is a great host, and has lost of information about end game content, as well as news.
- LOTROCast – www.lotrocast.com – Another good podcast. Great hosts, with more information about end game content, as well as news and editorial content.
- The Lord of the Rings Online Report – http://thelotro.com/ – Awesome information on end game raiding and dungeons.
Now, I’m sure that there are more out there, including A Casual Stroll to Mordor (not yet on iTunes), but I’ve limited myself to podcasts that have updated recently. I think that each podcast offers something different, and they complement each other quite well.
So, enjoy, and I’ll see you in game!
LOTRO Reporter Episode 003 Show Notes
Aug 24th
Pre-ample:
Talked about the nearly 4 week break between podcast and why this happened. Chris was working very long hours and there was no time for podcasting.
Topics:
1) “Did you know?” Column
- A new column for the site that will focus on parts of the game that many people might already know about, but that some people may have missed.
- First column topic: Weaponsmiths can make hunter traps and burglar items.
2) Level 30 Grind
- Many players talk about hitting a bit of a grind once they hit level 30
- Talk about how we have started to feel that with both past characters and our current mains.
- Mentioned the post on the official forums talking about the same thing. Sylarforever wrote the post: Does leveling ever pick back up again? talking about the same thing.
- Some ideas to use: Try a new area; work on the epic quests; work on your professions.
3) Medallion system:
- Replacing the token system for high-level gear.
- 1 medallion will drop for every member of the fellowship/raid.
- Will work on a barter system similar to tokens.
4) Traits:
- Still working on the guide for the site.
- Answered a questions from iamstillwater (via twitter): Are the full level of traits picked up by going through content you’re overpowered for already?
- Answer: If you start from the beginning with getting your traits in mind, then you should not be too overpowered when you work on your traits. If you go back later, however, yes, you will be overpowered.
