Fellowship Maneuvers

Note: I’ve lost the link of the original poster of the charts at the bottom of this guide. If you recognize it, please let me know so that I can have proper attribution for the hard work that was done to create the charts.

FELLOWSHIP COMBOS

Fellowship and teamwork are important themes in The Lord of the Rings, and The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ (LOTRO) development team wanted to reflect those values in LOTRO’s combat system. Players who group together can execute powerful combined-effort attacks called Fellowship Maneuvers also known by many players as Fellowship Combos or Fellowship Conjunctions. Teamwork in combat is the basis of the Fellowship Maneuver system; the more coordinated your fellowship is, the more powerful the results can be! Fellowship Maneuvers can also be used to make up for gaps in a fellowship’s abilities. For example, healing-based Fellowship Maneuvers can be life-savers for a fellowship that doesn’t contain a dedicated healer. When you trigger a Fellowship Maneuver, a Fellowship Skill wheel appears on each fellowship member’s screen asking them to choose how to contribute to the Fellowship Maneuver.

Fellowship Combos

The Fellowship Skill Wheel When the Fellowship Skill wheel appears, players should select one of the four colored icons, each of which represents a different Fellowship Skill:

Ent's Strength (Red)

Ent’s Strength (Red) Ent’s Strength is a simple, powerful melee attack. As it increases in power, it does more damage. At the 6th level of power it becomes an AOE attack with a radius of 10 meters.

Spider's Guile (Yellow)

Spider’s Guile (Yellow) Spider’s Guile is a combination of a melee attack and a powerful damage over time effect. At the 5th and 6th power levels the skill also applies a 15-second countdown effect that will damage the target’s power and slow the target’s attack and movement speed when the countdown is complete.

Eagle's Cry (Green)

Eagle’s Cry (Green) Eagle’s Cry starts off as a simple self-morale heal. At the 2nd level of power it becomes an AOE morale heal over time effect. At the 5th tier of power it also cures fear effects, and at the 6th tier it cures fear and wound effects.

Stallion's Spirit (Blue)

Stallion’s Spirit (Blue) Stallion’s Spirit starts off as a simple, self-power heal. At the 2nd level of power it becomes an AOE power heal. At the 5th tier of power it will also summon the shade of a fallen warrior to aid you in battle for a short time, and at the 6th tier of power it will summon an even more powerful shade to aid you.

FELLOWSHIP MANEUVER OPPORTUNITIES

Even a fellowship of two players is eligible to trigger Maneuvers, but since the power level of a Maneuver is dependant on the length and complexity of the sequence, the more members of a fellowship (up to 6 players), the more powerful their successful Maneuvers will be.

There are several ways for Fellowship Maneuver opportunities to arise during a battle:

Basic Combat
When you are fighting against a monster rated as Elite or higher, there is a chance with each damaging combat attack that you may push the monster into a state that will allow you and your fellowship to perform a Fellowship Maneuver on the monster.

Skills that Start Conjunctions

Ability Class Level Description
Exploit Opening Burglar 12 Stuns the target, creating opportunity for FM.
Trip Burglar 28 You can knock an enemy down, opening up an opportunity to use Fellowship. Trip can only be used while in Stealth.
Exposed Throat Burglar 39 After using your Double-edged Strike, you spy an opening and seize it doing high damage and having a chance of knocking your opposition into a conjuction state. Exposed Throat is a legendary trait obtained from The Expert’s Guide to Dirty Fighting.
Bags of Marbles Burglar 30 Knocks your target down, creating a chance of knocking your opposition into a conjunction state. Requires the passive skill of Clever Devices and any Bags of Marbles craftable items: Small,Medium, or Big.
Turn The Tables Guardian 36 You are able to knock down a target in response to being knocked down.
To The King Guardian 45 You are able to make a powerful attack against an enemy who has suffered from Overwhelm or Thrust, potentially knocking it down.
Fray the Edge Guardian 40 Your threatening taunts and feints are causing your target to slowly unravel. This skill increases the chance a randomly triggered Fellow Maneuver will start on any attack.
Kick Captain 44 With 4 traits in the Leader of Men trait set, kick has a 10% chance to initiate a Fellowship Maneuver.
Tripwires]] Hunter 35 Tripwire trap will knock opponents down and have a chance of triggering Fellowship Maneuvers. They exist in three versions: basic, improved, and inescapable.

Members of a fellowship can simply pick a color when a Fellowship Maneuver is triggered and enjoy the fun of seeing what effect results, but planning and coordination of color combinations can lead to powerful and targeted results! If you see a target symbol instead of Fellowship Skill Wheel, then you are not directly targeting the mob. Click on it to participate in the process. When the first player chooses a color by clicking on it, he becomes unable to attack with special skills, until the Fellowship Maneuvers is completed. If he moves, everything is cancelled.

The following are the different conjunction combinations that can be used to increase the strength (level) of individual maneuvers. To be executed correctly, the conjunction must use the specified colors in the specific order they are listed.

Note: Pairs and Straight Fellowship Maneuvers can be executed in either direction. For example, RGY and YGR both accomplish Wrath of the Righteous.

Thanks for the information about Fellowship Maneuvers. The following information was especially helpful:

“When the first player chooses a color by clicking on it [to start off a Fellowship Maneuver], he becomes unable to attack with special skills, until the Fellowship Maneuver is completed. IF HE MOVES, EVERYTHING IS CANCELLED.” (emphasis added)

Our fellowship was having trouble completing Fellowship Maneuvers… Each time the wheel came up, a few of us would have the chance to pick our colours, but the maneuver always seemed to cancel before the last person picked something. Perhaps the above explains why.

    Thanks again!

You’re missing the two most vital, difficult, and potent FM’s.

Hope of Men: GYRRYG: Does tier 6 Direct AoE damage, tier 6 wounding, and massive healing(Best healing FM there is. Period. 472*2 initial healing, then 472 every 2 seconds for 30 seconds at level 65) “Your fellowship cripples your opponent and crushes all foes, filling your hearts with hope.”

Breath of Freedom: BRYYRB: Tier 6 Direct AoE damage, Tier 6 wounding, and a massive power heal (As good as or better than BBBBBB). “Your fellowship strikes with the conviction of freedom, defeating your foes and rallying your allies.”

Personally, I’ve only been in a handful of groups that could get either off even once. The fellowships that can get one of them off consistently are very potent. Groups that can get both off and switch back and forth off at will in combat are unstoppable.
